ASBA Political Agenda

Home / Governmental Relations / ASBA Political Agenda

ASBA's position on issues is guided by its membership and based on the association's political agenda for the year. Every district has an opportunity to influence the yearly agenda by submitting proposals to ASBA's Legislative Committee, composed of interested school board members from throughout the state. The Agenda for the 2011 was just approved on June 26th by the association's members at the annual ASBA Delegate Assembly.

Now, it is time to determine the association's top ten priorities for the upcoming year.  Each governing board member and superintendent received a hard copy of the 2011 Political Agenda and a checklist for each governing board to determine it's top 10 priorities.  ASBA will then compile the results to determine ASBA's top ten priorities. Both documents are below in electronic form.

PLEASE NOTE: EACH GOVERNING BOARD IS ENTITLED TO ONE VOTE IN DETERMINING THE TOP TEN PRIORITIES -- PLEASE SCHEDULE THIS DISCUSSION AT YOUR NEXT BOARD MEETING!

2010 Political Agenda Priorities Plan of Action--Final Status Report
Each year your ASBA Governmental Relations team develops a Plan of Action for each of the Top Ten Priorities chosen by members and provides a final status report at the conclusion of the legislative session.
